After attending The Portrait Master's conference and being introduced to Richard Wood I made it a personal goal to push myself creatively. If you read my blog you will know that I had already started down the creative path but Richard Wood is one seriously amazing creative photographer and his presentation changed my view of what is possible. In thinking how I was going to actually accomplish this goal to push myself I reached out to some photographer friends and asked them if they would like to participate in a monthly creativity challenge. Each month one of us will share something to inspire us and we will have to take that inspiration and create something from it.
This month Ashley Lindsey picked the quote, "Something wicked this way comes!" How fitting for October. I'm a Halloween baby and therefor LOVE the holiday. But I'm not a huge fan for scary things, blood, gore, and anything generally evil. I'm more of a cute black cat kind of Halloween. So this quote was a bit of a challenge for me. My theatrical side immediately started to think of movies and I quickly came to Harry Potter and the Dementors. If we are talking something scary I think they are right up there. We've been reading the books as a family and my son really loves them. It's been a long time since I've done a photoshoot with him and I was excited for the challenge.
